Maybe the entitlement changes as society evolves.

Is there any entitlement greater than: 

I am entitled to freeze you out.

I am entitled to socially ostracize you.

I am entitled to discount your experiences.

I am entitled to pretend that what you're going through isn't happening. 

I am entitled to ignore your existence. 

Because it is simply too inconvenient for me to acknowledge.
