Yesterday I had a moment of pretend

And I was enjoying it.

In the evening, I took a book to the clubhouse. No one else was using it. I thought, of course, because there is no television,  and thank you for no television. I sat on the couch in front of the fireplace and found a passage that talks about nature in a way that could be very appealing to some people, myself included.

A Severe Mercy by Sheldon Vanauken

Then I left to get a drink, and when I came back, someone saw me go into the house. After that, a rather lonely-seeming man would come in occasionally and interrupt the quiet. He also made some very loud noise in the laundry room. I put box-fan white noise on my phone and kept reading, but it was no longer the same.

And later, I had to deal with more reality, the roaches I saw in the bathroom, and I got help with that at least.
