For some reason, I want to imagine a Montessori school I never attended because I chose to watch a conversation and then felt like remembering that MLK and Gandhi were partially inspired by Thoreau, since I let a comment about an "army of one" annoy me.
When one considers a lot of different kinds of people (children, women, men and everyone) there have been a lot of times when "an army of one" can make an impact.
Even if you only want to consider powerful men in your pool of criteria, some have found that people in certain positions of power will act afraid of a single person who points out their B.S. or raises expectations.
Lack of respect for a single individual is a learned pattern of behavior.
