I kind of wish I didn't know that Laura Ingalls Wilder and her daughter had such uncharitable attitudes towards people receiving government assistance from FDR during the Great Depression (even though Laura's own family also needed it!!!) But then again, I realized that my experience of reading their works is separate from the people they were and the lives they lived. They lived many, many decades ago. They were survivors.
I have a different set of circumstances, and I must choose to survive differently.
I also wish that more people in our present day society were encouraged to consider others who have inherited very different circumstances, which could include physical genetics, social or societal circumstances, and more. I wish a greater number of people could find it more easy to be sensitive towards their fellow human beings.
