Feeling really mystified by what trauma has done to some people's brains. Who can explain why a person who dedicated a lifetime to chronicling the horrors of fascism from one era has also chosen to believe in the fascism of this era? The mental gymnastics, the racism, the sexism, it boggles the mind.
