People can be very greedy, selfish and exhausting. Sometimes they act like little children who never got all their needs met, who eventually aged into their adult bodies, and then for a variety of reasons, they continued to act in certain ways, when they could have grown up a lot more. And all because societal forces trained them to act like short-term gains are the best that they can expect for themselves.
