It's like you have to join a cult of acting like materialistic possessions will make you feel safer and more distanced from the "have nots." Don't want to be like those persecuted people, do you?

Then, Unwell Patriarchy trains its followers to act like the people who aren't going along with the agenda are inferior to them, and that when they act like people who got convinced to go along with violence and bigotry, it's because they "earned" that right to be discriminatory.

It relies on people with very low self-esteem to continue going along with the same old patterns and thinking that's good enough for them.
