They say if it wasn't Trump up there, then it would just be some other corrupt guy right now, emboldening the racists and embodying whatever values the other sexist, racist, patriarchal people were trained to replicate.
They were all little innocent babies once. What happened to them in their little innocent lives?
Honestly the vast majority of many peoples' lives have probably involved a lot of turning of cartwheels for many closed minded men (or perhaps some women) who now just seem more able to magically tolerate the racism, sexism, and violence of someone like Trump in a transactional exchange that results in an increase of money or property or status or whatever.
When you got trained to spend so much time treating the shallowest and most materialistic of your society with the greatest amount favoritism, it's no surprise that they're the majority of the people you feel the most comfortable hanging out with.
Hey, just because some of us are not like the shallow dudes with more money and property doesn't mean we are going away. We do try to get to our dental appointments. We still have the middle class renter lifestyle going for us.
The truth of another kind of reality can seem too inconvenient and uncomfortable to experience when you've been warped by the societal expectations of doing whatever the violent patriarchal white supremacist culture wanted out of you in exchange for some temporary materialistic gains. SO PAINFUL!
