One of the most disappointing and most disempowering things is to expect people to actually take responsibility and stop discriminating against others when they clearly don't want to, and they clearly still want to keep on going along with their old prejudiced ways, because those ways paid off for them in the Patriarchal White Supremacist Society.
It's like, they were better people once, but they had the opportunity to not go along with stuff they went along with, and they chose to go along with it, but they don't even realize they threw away opportunities to be better to humanity. They just don't even realize it.
They don't want to realize it, either. They like choosing to be in a state of uncaring willful ignorance.
That's the point of it for them. It made them feel safe, and that's what they will continue to do because it worked out for them to be like that.
Well, it's at least great to know that not everyone can be that way.
