You wonder why it still feels normal to some to dehumanize others.

When a mother told me that where she comes from, "We don't talk about these kind of women; we send them away to a village," I began to be forced to see how cruel and dehumanizing the patriarchal culture wants parents to feel entitled to be towards certain kinds of other human beings, including children, or those who were once children. 

It is a horror. It is a real tragedy to normalize that kind of dehumanization. The universe is not going to let me just forget about it to make some self-absorbed people feel like it's okay for everybody to keep on continuing those kinds of patterns of dehumanizing others.
