Just thinking about how X already has a different destiny.

In the Patriarchal past, how many of the supposedly unimportant ones needed to labor so that X's mom was able to be kept in the manner to which she had become accustomed,  so that X's dad was able to be treated as far more important than anyone else?

And all because, underneath that exterior, he felt insecure and deeply wounded as a boy, because the Big Sad Wounded Patriarchy made him shut down his feelings.

I'm not being sarcastic.

It really is sad what gets communicated to boys and girls when small children are vulnerable.
