One friend who is a mom who lost one child and enjoys her other child who is living a grown up life in another part of the country was able to hear me when I said that I have at times felt very distressed by certain cultural values and I fear that without questioning them some people may be unfortunately being set up to discriminate against their own descendants. She simply said to me, "They know not what they do."
