Yesterday, when a mom who had struggled to have a kid for many years told me she knows how insensitive people can be about this topic, I felt grateful for her feedback.
Which doesn't mean I think my journey is necessarily going to be one that the media favors the most, the one where you finally get pregnant, and biologically become a mom, and suddenly get access to "real love."
Giving more attention to an expanded definition of what mothering is and means on this planet is just what feels best and most authentically nurturing to me right now.
Intersex people can mother. As can men and women who haven't given birth, believe it or not.
I am WELL AWARE that many do not want to agree with this point of view, but I feel cannot turn my back on all the different people just to fit in with traditional roles.
After I typed that last part, a great clap of thunder accompanied this strong shower of rain!!!!
