"For a variety of actions, like 'defending a joke' or 'negotiating more money' or 'hiring friends,' male showrunners are often given the benefit of the doubt, with a panoply of adjectives ascribed to their behaviors, like 'creative,' 'loyal,' or 'savvy,' while female showrunners who act similarly are often perceived as 'difficult,' 'crazy,' or 'difficult and crazy.' The same applies to women in positions all over Hollywood, with the notable exception of missionary."
