Sometimes I get addicted to songs

Even...if...I...can't...sing...all...the...lyrics...

Fiddler On The Roof - Ivan Rebroff ("If I Were A Rich Man & To Life")

https://youtu.be/BD6hFSRysv4

Those are some old patterns that have been repeated...

But since most people do not actually walk around wearing signs saying "This stuff you care about is not anything we were trained to care about," that means good change is still possible anyway?

The conversation that ended with

"We don't talk about them. We send them to away to a village" becomes Outcast Island.

So after enjoying the reign of patriarchal programming...

are the brothers ready for the renaissance of reproductive rights television?

It feels like this is the most important right now.

My body really needs me to learn how to get more healthy. I really need to learn more about how to do that.  Learning a lot more about healing is the only main thing I can do at this time. It is true that I did get very much interested in a lot of other things, but it all has to go to the side because of the situation I am in.

Feeling fortunate nevertheless.

Enjoyed a picnic with a very nice man today.

Hmmm.

I think that it is very harmful to society to be in the old-fashioned habit of treating men as if they are more important than women, and it still happens a lot, and I guess I just can't get as comfortable with it as some people are

Better base.

"I don't have to be an oppressive person just because that's what the Old Toxic Patriarchal Standards dictated, and caring about my health and the health of others is actually a really good thing."

It is something to remember, anyway.

A sensitive woman who told me she saw a very unhealthy atmosphere and also (somewhat to my surprise) a lot of "mean girls" vibes said "I am so sorry that happened to you."

Words, words, words...

"Maybe We Should Frame Unhealthy Behaviors As An Unwell Symptom of Repeating Toxic Patriarchal Patterns Issue."

Next time, you should exchange recipes, too?

"Maybe their kids will treat women better than they did" casserole

AND

"Maybe it's inevitable that their kids will treat human beings better than they did" cake.

Well, that's a start, but there's so much room for improvement

"If you get nightmares, just remember it could've been even worse."

It's a 2020s thing, too.

These mindful women are figuring out how to get the good stuff without treating other women like their human rights are meaningless.

Good lord, such a clueless boss in a world....

"When she said 'we have to publish this book,' her boss replied, 'What? That book by that kid?'”

For some reason, THIS Feeling again.

They remind me of the feeling I got as a little kid when I was on summer vacation and some other little kids, who clearly picked up on being jerks from someone somewhere, decided it was fun to make mean comments about a large woman at a swimming pool being too fat in her bathing suit. It hurt and I didn't want to hear them do that. Luckily, a nice mom (even though she was quite thin) told the little kids that they were being mean. What if she had just joined in? That would have made it feel so much worse. It's like this time, some narcissistic people decided to act more like they were still the mean little kids instead of the nice mom.

I have hope for the future.

It became too much for me to be in a patriarchal environment where some women made excuses for abusive practices because they needed paychecks. That was part of it, in addiction (oops...addition to) the obvious triggers.

Just stop going along with such harmful norms

It is painful to inherit narcissistic tendencies as a way to cope with living under patriarchal standards...surely there are better ways to be on this Earth.

What do they look like to you?

"These are the people who want therapy to learn how to be less narcissistic and they will also be learning to treat themselves and others so much better as a bonus."

It would ease some pain.

If some of the kids grew up to be much less narcissistic and bigoted than what got role - modeled for them by some of their elders.

Groupthink Too Toxic.

Women who treat women badly because that's what their patriarchal training told them to do are NOT doing it because it's good for society or for their kids or anyone. Not even themselves. It's just their temporary fix, like  worse than binging on sugar, or something?

Disappointment.

The Patriarchy wanted you to act that way, and you did.

Of course, it's natural to feel sad, but...

When it becomes apparent that the patriarchal structures have trained people to discount others, it can be good to remember that it's due to a lot of the societal messages they received. And actually, they probably were born to treat themselves and others a lot better than that.

Patriarchy is not healthy.

"Obstetricians are 'very worried,' said Dr. Erika Werner, a spokesperson for the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine. The concern is that if medication for miscarriage doesn’t work, patients will end up having surgeries they hadn’t anticipated.

'More women are going to have unnecessary surgeries. More women are going to have complications,' said Werner, who is also chair of obstetrics and gynecology at Tufts Medical Center."

A rather gruesome situation, to be sure.

“'I was sheltering in the doctor’s air raid shelter when they came for me,' said Margot recalling the horrifying ordeal.

'I tried to say I had TB, that I was infected. It did no good. They held me for 14 days and nights and raped me.

'After they finished I was never able to conceive. My husband and I wanted children so much ...'

Despite this, Woelk was still one of the lucky ones, with all the other 14 food tasters shot and killed by the Red Army."

More Mundane Mothering Moments...Sigh!

“'There are a lot of college girls here who don’t want to tell their mom when they need Plan B or even that they’re getting on birth control,' Abigail said as she perched on the exam table, hands buried in the pockets of her oversized tie-dye sorority sweatshirt. Without places like the clinic that offer low-cost and free services to people without insurance or afraid to use their parents’ or spouses’ insurance, 'those girls would not have access to those things. We’d end up with a lot more pregnant women who don’t want their children, and the waiting lists [for care] would become even longer everywhere else.'”

On the other hand...

Another thought...

Maybe if some people were nicer to certain parts of themselves, they would just naturally be nicer to others.

And it would have been rewarding, too.

It wouldn't have been that hard to do better.

Couldn't they do better next time?

Why do some people still resort to those tribal mentalities that feel too hard and discriminatory?

I think it must be so.

There must've been stuff buried inside that I always wanted to make better and if / when / as I do, it can help with healing so many other areas in this life. And now, there is an opportunity to do that. I think it must be so!!!!

Reminded me that sometimes, "tribal mentalities" can get very cultish & disturbing.

And that there are even times when they become needlessly destructive.

"It starts with stoking tribal mentalities and demonization of alleged 'enemies.' It starts with refusing to compromise, where the world becomes binary, just black and white with no consideration for what’s in between. It starts with limiting access to ideas and information."

I met a nice young man who told me that his father has been a real jerk.

Some people.

They got trained or convinced to be so uncaring, immature, thoughtless, unwise, stubborn, and mean.

Years and years and years of neglect.

So many were trained by The Patriarchy to act like they don’t care when basic human rights are taken from them, or from their children, or from other people's children....

He knows it's not right.

What? How come Belgium and France were better?

"Before 1940, the Netherlands, Belgium and France had been characterized by a parliamentary democracy and a liberal tradition for decades. Admittedly there was some antisemitism, often not openly expressed, but in these countries there had been no legal difference between Jewish and non-Jewish citizens for almost 150 years. The percentage of Jews of the total population did not differ very much and was low in all three countries: 0.75% of the French and Belgian population, and 1.5% of the Dutch population."

This is another way of looking at the current situation.

The next generations are being given many more nudges that caring about human rights for women and girls helps all of us as a society.

Mystery. Maybe it's an addiction, too?

She doesn't need to make so many excuses for abuses, but she still thinks she needs to keep doing it, for some reason.

What if society begins re-defining "wealth?"

People who seem to need to cater to dishonest people, who exclude or discount many in the process in order to have a certain kind of lifestyle, are very difficult for me to trust, honestly.

Speaking of which, I find that I love that I get to live with an honest person. However, it is true that he is also modest person, which might not be what impresses some people, but for me, in addition to honesty, that is very good fit for a sensitive person, too!

Sometimes a well-off man who cannot be your pal is simply...

So Easily Duped. By The PATRIARCHY! By The Patriarchally Influenced! SO! GULLIBLE! GROW UP! Grow Upwards! Reach For The Sky! Good Tree; You Can Do It; Believe!

As a healthy favor to themselves, too...

There certainly still are a few well off, insecure guys who got trained to go along with a lot of oppressive stuff, and they could stop getting temporarily rewarded for those unwell behaviors (like getting drugs to feed their addictions), before their next lifetimes come around for them.

Maybe they are confused as to how to value themselves, too.

Privileged people paying attention to you and then ditching you is not real friendship. It is, at best, friendship derailed by old, unhealed patriarchal patterns, for various and sundry reasons?

Surely, evolving can do so much more for humanity.

I may not know a lot of things, but I am at least able to believe that, surely, being healthy is more important than getting some people who are stuck in old behavior patterns to validate your worth as a human being, in spite of all the cultural programs that I too have consumed throughout this lifetime.

To better things in the future.

Old, ingrained patriarchal patterns told some humans to abandon others, and they did so.

I truly hope tomorrow is much, much better.

I feel sad that patriarchal cultural values are so abusive and so bad for so many kinds of human beings.

Is ADD just another way of viewing a life / lifetimes...

Who needs attention sometimes and why? Also, it's like I can hear a grandmother's voice saying I am not just paying attention to one thing, I am looking at many things...

How about this one?

Watch "1976: OTTO FRANK on the Diary of Anne Frank /  Blue Peter / Children's Television / BBC Archive"

https://youtu.be/nWUlZqsh2gQ

I think there might be some errors in how the BBC presenter described the events the family experienced. But more than that, how does it make you feel to see, in particular, towards the end of the clip, how Otto Frank is dealing with life?

What is the past teaching us; what about time being flexible

I was thinking about when Anne wrote in her diary that Peter's cat had disappeared and he was "beside himself." And the conversations they had about dealing with their emotions. I wanted to say, I learned some things about energy medicine points, & maybe these things can help you, too. As if maybe, on another level, time is flexible, and you can converse with people who are gone, and this time, things could be different....

Too.

I drifted into a nap and to my surprise I noticed that I floated over a sleeping baby. Just being a curious learner about humans. What can a baby learn about how to be calm and relaxed. What if the baby was me...

Merely presidents also don't take it seriously enough.

"It was not merely that Brown did not take the accusations of violence against women seriously. No one in power really did. Art Modell, the former owner of the Cleveland Browns, said in one interview, wise-guy smile in place, that Brown 'got into trouble because of, shall we say, a rough social encounter with a gal, or two, or three.'”

The cases against Brown are extensive. He often said that he has 'never been convicted of violence against women,' which is true. But almost all the cases tended to follow a script that was far too common at the time: Women, exclusively women of color, making heinous accusations against Brown, then facing all sorts of harassment and disbelief, and dropping the charges. Brown also shook his head when I asked him about this history, and he only said, 'Violence against women… shit,' as if he could not believe this still followed him so late in life. Yet the cases span the years from 1965 to 1999. It’s a remarkable stretch that cannot be written off as just an endless series of law-and-order conspiracies, coincidences, or bad luck. If we are going to tell Brown’s story, it is irresponsible to not say the names of Brenda Ayres, Eva Bohn-Chin, Debra Clark, and others."

It's a Real Thing.

Sometimes, people in high profile positions are there to remind me that it's incredibly sad that so many people were trained to act like not caring about violence against women is acceptable.

The phenomenon of patriarchal people being rewarded for treating women badly is REAL.

Over and over, human beings deserve better.

What is duty to humanity about?

"Here he is being called a civil rights activist when he opposed much of the politics and many of the methods and tactics of the civil rights movement. He derided civil rights marches as 'parades' in the 1950s and then again in 2016. That was when he engaged in an ugly, public feud with Representative John Lewis, whom Brown condemned for questioning Trump’s legitimacy. By that time, Brown supported Trump, a position that I argued made sense given his politics, which were both consistent and complicated. Brown supported Richard Nixon in 1968 and spoke at Huey Newton’s funeral in 1989. What is not complicated is his treatment of women. Again, to break that down to only 'was accused of domestic violence' does both the history and the survivors an injustice. Brown’s life calls for more than genuflection or dismissal; it demands study."

Can I be happy to be feeling calmer this evening?

I think so. (Maybe The Universe is going "Oh good. She FINALLY got it.") I have been eating a lot of reduced sugar raspberry preserves, too.

Another thing that happened today.

I had to pay attention to how some words were being used again, because I remembered that when I left my old position, even though there were various things that bothered me (jokes by the person in charge about violence against women which weren't, to my way of thinking, properly analyzed, going around and asking students which methods of suicide they'd choose, putting down "Si Se Puede" as if the sentiment behind it was too naive...and also, forgotten until today, telling people that the most interesting way to begin a paper had happened in the past when a student writer opened the essay with the phrase, "Hitler had the right idea.")

You see, at the time, I didn't think much of it. I wasn't offended, because I just assumed the person in charge meant he liked students to be provocative and find a way to get attention.

But then I read this article:

"Does it matter that Hitler had traces of Jewish ancestry?"

https://thecrimsonwhite.com/2286/opinion/does-it-matter-that-hitler-had-traces-of-jewish-ancestry/

"In a moment of mixed sadness for the lost symbol of hope and amusing irony for Hitler’s overdue circumcision, I read through the comments at the bottom of the page. I then stumbled across a posted statement that shattered both my blues and chuckles, replacing them with straight up fear."

~ Debra Flax

What upset this writer so much? A comment in which the poster said, among other things, "Hitler had the right idea."

!!!!????

I can't write about this right now.

I was looking for a picture, and found...

Mindfulness again.

Like something that was buried inside but is now coming to light...

I have been thinking and processing feelings about what a certain time period in history means to me more lately...even more than when I visited their "annex" in Holland so many years ago...which means that this show has been something of a catalyst for me.

"Bel Powley on How 'A Small Light' Is an Everywoman"

Documentary vs Movie Version

"Were the men who beat Mark Hogancamp neo-Nazis?

No. This is the movie's biggest fabrication with regard to the true story. In real life, Mark's assailants did admit to beating him because he told them he was a cross-dresser, which would make it a hate crime, but they weren't actually neo-Nazi white supremacists like in the movie. One of the real-life attackers, a 16-year-old nicknamed 'Black Freddy," wasn't even white. However, to reinforce the point, the movie even shows one of the men with a swastika tattoo on his bicep. Both in the Marwencol documentary and in the articles written about Mark Hogancamp, including in The New York Times, there was never a mention of his assailants being neo-Nazis. They also appear a bit older in the film. In real life, two of the five attackers were still teenagers."

How to care about stuff the unwell patriarchy didn't want anyone to care about.

And another thing I have noticed...

Some people seem to want to convince you that this or that is what you're supposed to do because that's what they chose. Even your own friends or family members might do that, possibly without knowing they're doing it sometimes.  You just get the feeling that a certain way of life is not set up to include what you are supposed to be doing with yours, and that you might need to go in a different direction.

Sometimes, a cult of motherhood can feel just as unbalanced as a cult of patriarchal god worship.

Staying away from those dynamics can feel akin to escaping from a religious sect whose practices aren't very psychologically healthy for you.

In that industry, but also elsewhere.

People who get convinced by others that they should be exclusionary of people who are too different from them give me the chills sometimes. It feels like that's what happens in certain cults and religious circles. It  gets repeated again, but in a different way, and it can be very surprising when that happens.

Sometimes, yes.

Cult mentalities help women find ways to accommodate unbalanced patriarchal norms. Not always, but sometimes, cult of motherhood does that, too.

Privileged guys have lots of needs.

"When 'Oh no, I'm supposed to be nice' met 'Oh no, he's supposed to stop being a patriarchal jerk, even though he keeps getting rewarded for it, which is why the percent that can't get along with him keeps being greater than the percent that could have been getting along & having fun.'"

Pop! 🫧

She popped older sister's bubble and then got scolded by an adult. But was older sister upset? It didn't seem to me like she was...

So that was the morning dream.

At first I was alone and traveling, then I had a friend to talk about films with, and then some mother & sister stuff came up, and by the end of the dream I was beginning to tell a room full of women who were very interested in self care about a library book that has helped me learn more about triple warmer meridian and points that can help to make one feel more calm...

Saturday, May 20, 2023

That's another, more peaceful message.

Many of us received messages that we were not enough, and we developed all kinds of patterns to cope with the ways some of society operated, but now is a good time to change and learn how to be more health conscious and develop more nourishing habits.

Everybody can cry.

I have physical ailments which show me that learning how to accept better patterns and more healing can really be a process, so I will just accept I can learn more about this.

Oh, interesting message.

"Also grateful they realized that the abusive dudes who gave them money were very dependent on the system running in a certain way, so certain egos got catered to, and certain behavior patterns were reinforced."

I hope they get access to better rehabilitation services soon.

It's not the most fun thing to try to articulate how it feels when some people are being so disappointing just because they're still desperately clinging to some very old, unhealthy, toxic patterns that the patriarchy brainwashed them into repeating. I can't believe they're not tired of it yet.

Sounds alright from here, though.

See how you can be more helpful, even if only just for yourself, & not be like someone who was brainwashed to be a narcissistic jerk who is insensitive to others, still upholding tiresome old patriarchal standards, which are, however, crumbling nevertheless, in spite of everything.

I'm afraid the narcissistic ones are better at just feeding their own addictions than they are at actually helping themselves or anybody, really.

Process it and let it go.

I don't want to think about how much repeating old toxic patriarchal narcissistic behavior patterns are terrible for our collective health, but it feels like it is so, so now I just want to process it and let it go.

Control Issues.

Is it possible an unwell patriarchy wanted to control people to be so:

afraid or self-absorbed or insensitive or in denial or self-destructive

about basic human rights being threatened or taken away

that being self-destructive or in denial or insensitive or self-absorbed or afraid

is what their response would be when it happened?

A Human Experience.

How to survive feeling horrified at how immature patriarchal people can be while perceiving that so much change for the better, which is so obviously needed, is exactly what they are avoiding doing...and why????

Honesty is better.

What if they were promised a treat if they  stopped being so horrible and dehumanizing to others just to fit in with some cult mentality? Would that help?

Did they get stuck?

Is it hard for them to deal with feelings of shame and insecurity, which leads them to act aloof or flippant or otherwise unwilling to be trusted?

Why don't they choose to be better?

Patriarchal Ones got brainwashed into believing that being selfish &  dehumanizing in exchange for some very temporary rewards is okay.

How did they get that way?

Untrustworthy people who act like insensitive, abusive men are more important than everyone else.

Why?

Well, coolness.

I think it was kinda sad sometimes to be "That feminist chick" and "But you're a feminist" when I was younger just because it wasn't cool enough back then for some to care about human rights for girls and women, but I guess people better start making it more cool because it feels like your life and your health and the human rights of your loved ones are really being threatened now.

"Our Farmworkers Deserve Better"

https://www.yesmagazine.org/issue/thirst/2023/05/18/farmworkers-deserve-better

"I was repeatedly told that farmworker communities are notoriously hard to build trust in. 'They won’t speak to media,' one editor warned me. 'They’re afraid of journalists,' a reporter friend said. I came to parrot these lines myself—and admittedly, the first several months of reporting were hard. I had particular trouble finding H-2A workers to speak to, but I soon learned it’s not because migrant farmworkers are unwilling to make their voices heard. These workers are hard to reach because of the nature of their work. Farmworkers are also fully aware of the consequences of speaking to a reporter—employers of H-2A workers can covertly blacklist them from being able to legally work in the U.S. Retaliatory employers have threatened undocumented farmworkers with immigration enforcement for detailing wage theft and other abuses. More often than not, these workers choose to speak out anyway."

Nevertheless, they can change.

It's still too easy for some people to not care about "those kinds of human rights"  because there was so much programming drummed into them, and they were given so many incentives to not think about it, but not caring causes too much suffering to be good for most human beings.

"Abortion, Every Day (5.11.23)" - by Jessica Valenti

https://jessica.substack.com/p/abortion-every-day-51123#details

Forced to See An Issue

I wonder if there's people who remember saying they didn't have to care about abortion to be feminist, and if they're thinking about how having access to healthcare is important to having basic human rights these days...

Spices...and being human...

I had no idea that having feelings for Opekta and the people who created it would get so deep inside of me. What a good business. A real place where real people lived. You want sisters to have been able to go on, like grandmothers you once knew, and tell about how it was in to come of age in the 40s and 50s.

Like, what if they did get to do that in another reality.

Like, what if people just learned more about energy healing and it helped them.

Like, what about feeling better thanks to flower essences and a bit of crying.

The cat is good at being a cat and making all the good cat noises.

This message is coming up because I asked.

 "Acknowledge Love."

When everyone is running away, how can we acknowledge Love. When I start thinking I am fine and then unresolved stuff comes up and I start getting into a state of insecurity about worrying with a new physical symptom, oh no, what to do, where to go, how to pay, will it make it better...how to acknowledge Love.

Dear Blessed Guardian Angels...

My body has turned me into a humble person who seeks help and guidance and healing wisdom.

What's good to do when you want to really find peace and feel able to care for yourself really really really well?

Maybe will ask myself questions to see if the good answers for the next steps in regards to how things are right now will come to me.

Peace...πŸ•Š️

People need so much healing, it's true

It's challenging to be in this body now. One thing goes, and another thing comes up. It can be very daunting. I guess to embrace self and your own vulnerability and find whatever help is available is the best thing to do.

Something beautiful in the universe must be able to see how much a person who has experienced brokenness can also feel inspired to be able to feel healed, and to be able to feel whole again.

It can happen.

I am going to be with good people again. I am with one now. I will have a work situation that is good, and not traumatizing, with people who are good, and it will be healthy, and I will be able to make enough money to feel good about what I am learning. Because that can happen!

Good to remember now.

I have good fortune in living with a very good person, and a pretty good cat.

Hope to feel much better and more fixed very soon.

I guess I know what it's like to try to help yourself by learning more about stuff that's outside of what mainstream patriarchal society wants to give you.

I was just thinking that it was so nice not to have hours of panic attacks, like I had had earlier in the week, and glad that learning about some pressure points did at least help (but not cure it all), but my temporary crown felt like it was made of puzzle pieces and then it broke.

Brokenness has come to consciousness.

Be more creative and less cruel; that could help.

Being cruel and exclusionary and oppressive is not okay. Even if others told you it was, it's not. Even if you got rewarded for it in some ways. What if you can stop being so cruel to yourself and others? Cruelty hurts, a lot. There are much better ways to be.

Play some soothing music before you sleep.

I need to survive without getting more hurt by immature patriarchal people who seem into  being destructive and cruel, for no truly good reason, out of...what, exactly? Self-absorption?

That would be so much better.

I wish a temporary hadn't broken off my tooth and I wish people you'd think would know better would stop being immature jerks along with their great fortune(?) to fit in with toxic misogynistic patriarchal norms.

So tiresome.

"I think the fact that Depp’s jokes about the murder and rape of a woman have been so readily dismissed is significant. We dismiss them because the abuse of women is so easily ignored, undermined, or derided in our society. Depp manages to maintain his 'sweet Johnny' persona in spite of his hateful words because the vulgar, disrespectful and obscene attitudes to women that were exposed during the trial mean nothing to us – we can accept that they’re jokes because we don’t take misogyny seriously."

Today's humorous message from The Universe...

A woman in a parking lot was wearing a t-shirt which said, "Hang On. Let Me Overthink This."

I don't know why, but humans can really confuse themselves...

...and each other, when they are dealing with their own traumas.

In the morning, it was impossible to be as I am now. Now, it is much better. I can see I have many things to work on. But I was so distracted. "That really happened and it was so terrible and I can't stop feeling how unfair it is." Some of it came up because of what I had been reading lately. It all seemed so much more vivid now than it had been in the past. It seems as though I let trauma from the past inside, and it was steering everything, and it was not the first time that had happened.

I had to go out, so I used some pressure points to relieve anxiety, which actually did help. Acute anxiety that makes you feel like you can't go on also cannot last forever. I nearly missed a dental appointment, but I was able to process things. Eventually, I told myself "People wouldn't have wanted you to be stuck in their worst times and traumas, and they would want you to heal, and your healing can help humanity more." I believed that. It helped, and I think I am better state of mind now.

I am a beginner. I don't have it all figured out. Perhaps I want to be so skilled at getting better at healing internal trauma that it's not reliant on how others (who are dealing with their own traumas) are acting, or if they are being "understanding." Learning and growing and being able to change little by little is the best I am able to do for now.

And foremost.

Accepting help from the universe on how to get better at accepting healing and all the good things to help healing be first priority.

Best to be more trustworthy for wellness and health reasons.

Just being a basically respectful and honest and decent person to self and to other people is far more important than some people seem to know, based on their choices, actions, behaviors...but it would make so much of a difference for so many reasons.

Help Us, WonderFul Sleep. Blessed Rest.

Please let me become so good at learning how to live healthy life. I am dizzy, and not sure if cramming in rereading Anne Frank's diary from an online source was wise. I only did that because I felt good after lying on the grass in a park and...let's  just do the Zen coloring app now and go to bed.

Isn't it kinda funny?

You know how you always want to think it's the other person and not you who looks away and makes excuses for abuses when something really unbalanced is going on, but you found a way to get some benefits from going along with it?

Library book getting popular again?

Today in the early morning: wait time 4 weeks. Today in the early afternoon: wait time 6 weeks.

And in writing...

"I knew that Anne wrote a diary. She spoke about her diary. She left her diary with me at night in a briefcase next to my bed. I had promised her never to look in. I never did.

“When I returned, and after I had the news that my children would not come back, Miep gave me the diary, which had been saved by, I should say, a miracle. It took me a very long time to read it, and I must say I was very much surprised about the deep thoughts Anne had, her seriousness — especially her self-criticism.

“It was quite a different Anne [than] I had known as my daughter. She never really showed this kind of inner feeling. She talked about many things, we criticized many things, but what really her feelings were, I only could see from the diary.

“And my conclusion is, as I had been in very, very good terms with Anne, that most parents don’t know, really, their children.”

I went there for work when I was younger!

"Otto Frank talks about Anne's diary"

https://www.facebook.com/annefrankhouse/videos/otto-frank-talks-about-annes-diary/10154662225741717/

This clip I saw at Anne Frank Huis in early winter of 2001 is available online now, and it is one of the things that I remembered the most about visiting the museum.

"It will be so crowded," my coworkers said. Even on a weekday. But it wasn't! When I went there, it was not as they said it would be.

It happened.

"I know a man who treats humans better all of the time" MET "And it's still very clear you have got to start treating human beings better than what you were doing, for your own good."

I get it, and that's how it has to be.

The collusion in the 2020s was SO unhealthy. Really. Maybe later we can talk about that in more detail.

Okay, I get it.

"Mrs. X cannot be good to you until she finds a way to liberate herself from Oppressive Patriarchal Norms."

She helped!!!!!!

The woman who stopped making excuses for that guy being a jerk.

How about that?

It looks like they have more in the latest published versions of Anne Frank's diary than they had in the one we read when I was in school.

Oh that's a good one, though.

"Can't make as many excuses for misogyny on this level, apparently."

Thoughtful Lately?

"X has been listening to "Dudes who are happier and less misogynistic than the ones that I've been around' in preparation for Next Time. And "How to treat human beings better than the women they've hanging around with, too."

Bigger picture...

"But lots of people reward me for being a callous jerk if I give them money or access to spaces" so what? You deserve better than that too, actually.

Quit being so callous to him and to her, too.

You are capable of treating girls and women much better. AND there are guys who are, frankly, much nicer, more responsible, and more respectful to ordinary people than you were rewarded for being by the society you chose in this life. So it is also possible for you to become better at it before you have your great transition into whatever is next for you.

Do I hear what I hear...

I hear they're getting better at giving away things and learning more about energy medicine these days.

I like that.

The cat is so good at enjoying a nice life.

Oh well.

Why Margaux, why Anne Frank, why anybody, why am I tired, why "This is Ground Control to Major Tom" in your head, why not nap a little.

Celebrating Noted.

"In the meantime, all three said they celebrate new technology that has helped make Mother’s Day less bitter. In years past, there was only one phone on the farm or they had to buy long-distance calling cards, but now the moms are grateful they can talk to their children on their cell phones and see them on video."

Blessed Be Your Health & The Health of Your Mother Earth 🌏

You found "Lena: My 100 Children (1987)" on Mother's Day!

It feels ready to be so appreciated in these appropriate times! Well, the mom who was our junior high social studies teacher also made an impression on us...

I support that.

Whatever truly heals you of what ails you.

Hopefully better times are ahead!

The way they and many of their sexist friends have treated women and girls still makes me feel very nauseated.

I have a positive outlook to share.

It's good to see you / that you have the potential to be more.

When, and soon?

Maybe you will be more trusted to be able to respect and help people when...

Well, what do you think is "too toxic"?

"Too narcissistic to care about very basic human rights for x kinds of people" is too toxic.

When fortified...

Why not pray for the many who were made to leave work places which did not have enough respect for them!

What?

It was like a voice was asking for a snack. Sure, why not have a snack after a nap.

Sleeping on it might be good.

What if you feel more inclined to behave differently, for health reasons, in the next life, like, maybe after your next good nap?

4 is Late AND Early

When "If we'd met when we were younger, things would've been better" met "Oh, we did meet when we were younger, and that was better."

Alas, a dizzy spell...

Life needs to let me know what I should do next for my health, to improve it and such.

And besides this...

"Anne Frank series A Small Light 'clears the cobwebs off the history'"

It makes me pause in a thrift shop to notice that a person is shelving an Elie Wiesel book below me.

Fun Sight ❤️πŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ©΅πŸ’™πŸ’œ

A bearded guy pedaling a bike with four children in a cart behind him who wore a rainbow shirt or jacket with the words "Don't Let The Bastards Get You Down."

They should ask the universe for help in getting better.

Since their addictions to narcissistic behaviors can cause them to lack empathy, to be too abusive, & too dehumanizing, & to traumatize people.

I think it would be better if they asked the universe for help in getting more truly and deeply healed more quickly.

They could've been better.

It feels like some people would have been better to others and probably also to themselves if a lot of enablers hadn't still been making excuses for their addictions in exchange for some kinds of "rewards."

Have recently felt it's very sad that some people are still so conditioned to make excuses for unwell, abusive behaviors. It adds to the trauma, and makes them enablers of abusive behaviors.

Positive Thoughts for The Future, Yes.

You can work on having both a career and empathy, instead of sacrificing empathy just to fit in with some toxic jerks in order to also have a career!

Something to look forward to?

The day you stop giving off those "Yes, part of me knows better, but unfortunately I am still not ready to stop making excuses for certain abuses, because..." vibes.

Also in existence on this planet 🌎

Patriarchal people who KNOW others should stop making excuses for their bad behaviors in exchange for rewards or social acceptance or access to certain spaces (even though that's what many were trained to do), and are WILLING to make changes for the BETTER.

They exist in the world.

Why not be more like the parents or grandparents or aunts or uncles or neighbors or...Human Beings...who definitely didn't want to go along with oppressive rape culture?

Selfishness and oppression are what the Unwell Patriarchal People refuse to look at... because...they are made unwell by selfishness & oppression.

You will see more since #Roe is gone. It’s horrific what these states have done. Honestly, I’m angry at our entire government. This should have never happened to force children to give birth. It’s #CrimesAgainsHumanity #CrimesAgainstChildren

Feelings happen.

This made me feel like saying, "Stop traumatizing people just to go along with your 'friends.'" Just because some nuns also traumatized people because that's what they were trained to do by Their Patriarchal Culture, too, doesn't mean you have to be as insensitive as the laughing nuns and cult mentality audiences on CNN just to fit in with other bullies who make excuses for all kinds of abuses.

about rape, I went back to that dark place of the “laughter of my naked self, pregnant abused girl” and felt a searing pain. I felt they would laugh at me. Probably so. #CNNTownhall

4)🧡 I went into the bathroom and took the shower curtain off to wrap around my body..  The nuns did not return for 3 days with food or my bedding / clothing. I ate what they gave me. I was starving and pregnant. Never laugh at a survivor. Ever."

3)🧡 I crouched down on the floor completely naked as the nuns laughed at me and how 'big I had gotten'. Mother Marie said 'Susan, you will learn to appreciate the food given to you!'. They walked out and locked the door. The cot had coil springs and my mattress was gone."

2)🧡 Sister Mary Ann asked why I didn’t eat it. I told her it was raw. She said, 'Mother Marie will be very angry' , and left. Later, Mother Marie came in with three other nuns and said, 'Strip it'!  I was about 8 mo preg. They took all my bedding and my nightgown and underwear..."

1) 🧡When I was raped by my father in 1969, and got pregnant, I was sent to a nunnery/ orphanage to have the baby. I was locked in the attic for 3 months and had no air. My meal came. It was a few little things and a raw drumstick. I could not eat it. I left the drumstick."

"Just Say NO" to blatantly abusive patriarchs, at least. Please.

"In the years since Donald Trump first descended the escalator at his eponymous tower to rail against Mexicans while launching his campaign for president, he has shown himself to be a liar, a sociopath, a bigot, and a demagogue. He was impeached twice, criminally indicted, and found liable in civil court for sexually abusing an advice columnist in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room. He fostered a deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol after lying about the results of the 2020 presidential election, continues to lie about the outcome of said election, and is being criminally investigated in Georgia on charges related to his efforts to overturn said election. He hoarded classified documents at his Florida home and ignored subpoenas to return them. He has a history of coddling and emulating dictators around the world. He lies as easily as he breathes, about pretty much everything."
