A friend who had really liked teaching at a community college left after a male student who got violent sometimes (to the point where some other students dropped the class) got written up but was still allowed to take any class. No protection for her, and now she's no longer teaching there.
So whether a tenured person or a student is violent, the patriarchal systems fail to respect too many.
