PNW encounters

The very friendly (possibly drunk) woman told us she also met her wonderful and kind husband in 1997, and they were from Tacoma (him originally, and her after leaving Thailand.) "Do you know Vashon Island? For part of my childhood I grew up there." "Oh, you grew up there? Hippie Girl!" She laughed and pointed at me. "Ha ha. Well, I hear it's more expensive to live there now." "Yes, now it is like this." She put a finger on her nose and turned it upward. "So expensive!" But she had still liked the island, and they had enjoyed a wonderful stay at a bed and breakfast there, a long time ago. They go back to Tacoma sometimes, and her children can see their birth mother, who is her sister (they had an open adoption). If we didn't want to drive home tonight we could sleep in their camper, she offered. But we were planning to go home...
