Do you think people being insensitive about those topics makes it more likely...

that more people will suffer from those kinds of things? 

(Things like:

insensitivity towards people who are suffering due to violence against women, or 

insensitivity towards people who are suffering because of anyone being suicidal).

Sadly, it seems to be that way.
