In one car ride, NPR informed me about the increase in violence against women online, reasons the terrible inflation won't go away anytime soon, and children being separated from parents in Shanghai due to stringent Covid protocols. The part about a video of a Corgi being beaten to death (the pet was seen as a Covid threat bc the owner tested positive) brought me to the conclusion that I was ready to turn off the news for the rest of the day.
