Sorry but society still has to de-normalize violence

"In Mexico City, a Feminist Market Is An Act of Resistance"| Vogue

"The start of the COVID-19 pandemic coincided with an inflection point in Mexico’s feminist movement. In 2019, after a series of high-profile femicide and sexual assault cases, women in Mexico began staging disruptive mass protests. In Mexico City, they graffitied monuments, broke windows, and burned down a police station. They spray-painted victims’ names in neon across sidewalks and walls: Fatima, a seven-year-old kidnapped from school and found mutilated; Ingrid, murdered and skinned by her boyfriend; Lesvy, strangled on her university campus. Their names become an anthem. Another series of particularly brutal femicides made the headlines in early 2020, and on March 8, 2020—International Women’s Day—tens of thousands of women spilled into Mexico City’s streets to march against violence."
