What if taking better care of yourself is a life issue

But also a mission?

I think I will try it again?

I have an ear / throat issue on the left and other things.

The left side is often the suffering side for some reason.

Better later maybe?

Ever been continually reminded of how easy it is to be sad about how society turned some of the wealthy and overprivileged into people who possibly just don't even know how harmful their self-absorption and irresponsible decisions feel?

BeotherBrotherBelierBeliever

What if you and one of your fellow female comrades are tasked with enduring sexism, making a bit of fun of someone who does self- absorbed stuff that causes bad feelings in order to lighten the situation, and also trying to get him help in your next life.

What about a stone...

Is the Universe being goofy?

Yes, you may have noticed that the sexism some find so tolerable in exchange for a financial boost appears to be way worse for "other people" than it is for them? Some of those "other people" are also the ones who give us food and clothing and all sorts of fine things?

What if our culture got more educated about brains & emotional reactions

Like, when a man has denial of situation issues. Three people said an ambulance was needed and still he wanted to resist. Calling an ambulance was the right choice. The paramedics were good. Maybe the man needs help or training so he's not so prone to behaving poorly when he doesn't know how to deal with being scared. Sigh.

This is repetitive

Send light or prayers or healing vibes to the stubborn guys who like to be in denial and get blustery and resistant as a way of dealing with anxiety when someone's sick and they aren't in control cause they apparently need help with that sort of thing.

So many good reminders

"You carry Mother Earth within you," says Thay. "She is not outside of you. Mother Earth is not just your environment.

"In that insight of inter-being, it is possible to have real communication with the Earth, which is the highest form of prayer. In that kind of relationship you have enough love, strength and awakening in order to change your life"

"Changing is not just changing the things outside of us. First of all we need the right view that transcends all notions including of being and non-being, creator and creature, mind and spirit. That kind of insight is crucial for transformation and healing.

"Fear, separation, hate and anger come from the wrong view that you and the earth are two separate entities, the Earth is only the environment. You are in the centre and you want to do something for the Earth in order for you to survive. That is a dualistic way of seeing.

"So to breathe in and be aware of your body and look deeply into it and realise you are the Earth and your consciousness is also the consciousness of the earth. Not to cut the tree not to pollute the water, that is not enough."

Prayer for a glimmer of compassion?

Maybe they've been acting like they don't care for so long, maybe they can't even recognize how often they do it?

Actually the other room was quieter

I doubt that a church which doesn't even allow women to lead would blatantly say what women would be rewarded for instead.

I think I need to leave. Too much bass.

I am angry about it. Interesting fantasy: the relatives of certain men get self-interested and advise them to stay away from most of the world, which they've been treating like their own personal garbage can.

There's a reason they get along best with very patriarchal women who act like they're more important than anyone else.

Wanting to run away

Too noisy on a Friday in the neighborhood. How hard it is to live someplace quieter. Or how hard is it for some people to keep the bass down?

Zoning out

Getting that grateful to be zoning out feeling.

Do you call it indoctrination?

Why would your relatives treat me better if I had more money? And why would they probably just make excuses for me if I did certain things that are not considered respectful to others?

But why still too soon for rehab?

If it's still too soon,  welcome to your sexism and abuse tolerant relatives who apparently enjoy getting off on not giving a shit (a very weak form of power.)

They don't seem to have a lot to offer people who are too different from them,  except for a lot of self-indulgence recently.

Maybe later will be better time? How much later? Days? Weeks? Months? Years?

A few lifetimes?

"I too often...but maybe I can change that."

Character: "I too often act like I come from people who reward me for being selfish and abusive to others, but maybe I can change that."

It's not just why does your bro, father, husband...

Why do you....?

Is it due to trauma from indoctrination into a cult or cult-like way of thinking since childhood?

Since their entitled behaviors communicated

that some are just the kind of people who care more about money than about safety or positive change for any number of reasons, I wish they would also go into more detail about how being accommodating to sexism and rape culture has provided them with a number of wealth perks.

A soul needs help

Man called to ask if he's scheduled to work today and said "Things are getting weird in my head." I feel worry for a stranger I've only heard a little bit about and my heart is affected.

Who can help him? He needs real world help from people. I also believe in healing energy that comes from prayers and angels.

"My father, Jesús Guillén, was always painting. When he was home, most of his time was spent at his easel with his brushes, painting in his studio and, when he didn’t have a studio, he was in the house. He was always painting; that was his life. Painting farmworkers was what he did, and he would always tell us about the beauty of the work and that we as farmworkers didn’t even recognize it ourselves — that we didn’t recognize the beauty of what we were doing and the skill of it.

He would say that every part of your body when you’re working the land and doing this work is graceful. When I do social justice work for farmworker rights, that’s what I’m thinking about. I think it's good some things are moving along

Earlier today I had a "dream flashback." Very simply, years ago I dreamed about meeting a guy who seemed fine at first and then he turned to me and went "Hello" and his eyes were kind of strange like rainbows or kaleidoscopes and reminded me of psychedelic drugs and I felt I needed to run away because they communicated the potential to have no respect for boundaries and inflict ruinous insanity upon me.

Well, I noticed that's not really as chilling now as it was.

The Universe has shown me some men.

There is a man you don't know who lives in a trailer park. He's past retirement age. He's told a good person who's taking the time to be mindful that he doesn't think he has enough $ to retire yet, but he has medical issues, and mindful person thinks he knows he might have to make changes soon.

Then there's your rich relative who gets to act like an untrustworthy and overly entitled jerk. Why would he even want to act that way? Maybe he's incredibly insecure about losing control and letting himself become such a puppet of the patriarchy?

"I'll get my revenge on anyone who rejects me by just acting worse" the behavior seems to say.

It seems I don't especially enjoy men of any background who act controlling and uncaring.

I know That One could change for the better.

In their own ways, both kinds of men have a lot of company actually.

"An only child to divorced parents, Chlumsky was now both daughter and provider, and the pressure for her to retain roles after My Girl 2 came out in 1994 collapsed into frustration as she reached puberty. Hopping from dermatologist to dermatologist in pursuit of a magical skin treatment, she was directed to work out on her lunch breaks to offset any weight gain."

Not the happiest sounding circumstances...

"When Matilda actress Mara Wilson penned a 2021 New York Times essay in response to the news of Britney Spears’s conservatorship battle, called 'The Lies Hollywood Tells About Little Girls,' Chlumsky read the whole thing in one sitting. 'I was shaking, shaking, reading that in public,' she says. 'Cause [it felt like] there were [words] ripped, exactly, from my mouth. Like the words that she would tell people to get them to go away? Same words as mine. It was crazy.' Chlumsky reached out to Wilson, and the two now converse on occasion."

Even if in the early 2020s the average American seemed to be doing an absolutely phenomenal job of not paying attention to what was going on in Afghanistan, among other things, it clearly does NOT mean that the Civil Rights Movement was as sexist or antifeminist as SOME people (not all people) might say.

Sucked in by the comedy

Not cold anymore.

"BAD EDUCATION Trailer (2020)" Hugh Jackman, Comedy Movie - YouTube

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mHNng3hb4co

Many people need to learn to be better to themselves.

I need to. I am cold. I have pains. I need a heating pad and tea. I can still relax. I can drift off. To be honest it can be daunting to live in a body that has so much going on with it. Sensitivities. Feelings. Feeling more sensitive than others. How sometimes this can be wonderful. How other times it seems you must stay in bed a lot. Time goes by quickly. What is there to learn now, from this sort of existence. It simply seems to be saying "You and many others must learn how to take better care of yourselves on all levels."

Who needs more?

Agnes, it seems.

Agnes in the Puzzle movie.

Agnes still has a lot of privileges. No one is making Agnes feel like a worthless person because she can't have children or get married to a man of "I can do whatever I want as the designated male at the top of the food chain" status.

Agnes is probably living out the exact sort of destiny she was trained for since birth.

It's not enough, though.

RECENTLY

I saw a deleted tweet that reminded me about a time when I heard a man complaining that when he was in college he wanted to join a feminist group but they wouldn't accept him. He was still very angry about it.

I am not saying they were right to exclude him, but I know that immediately my mind went to all the previous bad experiences the women may have had...

I have to say that I feel zero percent like the dude I live with would get offended by my recollection of this little incident. He doesn't have to agree with me. He just feels no need to persecute.

https://twitter.com/harpy_diem/status/1495079088440037377?s=20&t=zl8hCKjrihi7UyUKT3c2mQ

Yet, on any given day I feel as though 50-80% of the women I know casually would be likely to get riled and defensive if I said I was even a little bit sympathetic towards the bad exclusionary feminists.

I think many of us were raised to be antifeminist.

Why. Life. IN A BODY.

"When Huron Mayor Rey León launched the Green Raiteros program in 2018, he sought to address five problems afflicting the predominantly Latino community: 1) economic disparity 2) health disparity 3) environmental disparity 4) the effects of climate change and 5) lack of transportation. Four years later, León has done just that. Farmworkers in the Central Valley city know they can rely on the electric vehicle rideshare program to get to their doctor appointments and other social service appointments free of charge. They get rides all across Fresno County. That’s critical in this poor farming town where transportation is sparse, pediatric asthma rates are high, and the nearest children’s hospital is at least an hour away."

"For example, telling young boys that pinching, punching, or verbally insulting girls or children who are gay can 'ultimately lead to 'much more violent behavior,' she said.
