This reminds me of when I lived in Virginia and an older midwestern roommate of mine was watching an episode of the Little House TV show, and I cheered "You go, Pa Ingalls, you tell them what's right and good!" and she just looked at me strangely, and I thought why don't people get my sarcasm? Do I even know why I said that?" I always liked the books better.
