She made fun of me for getting Little House on the Prairie books from the library. This one she recommended. Cheryl, with long blond hair and superior knowledge of things like foodstamps and a nice grandmother who came on our class field trip to some place like Lake Washington that last time I saw her...
She also told me Bridge to Terabithia was good but so sad and that one I did not read until many years later. Maybe this one was enough...
