when I was so extremely young of an adult, and I had an opportunity to attend a kitchsy musical variety show and this cool person I knew also attended and I asked if his wife was coming too instead of being mildly judge-y about married men leaving their wives to do all the childcare at home I totally could have said "why don't explain you why not in far more extensive detail?"
