That time he had some influence


"Benjamin Franklin countered that a forthcoming election was not good enough to avert impeachment and removal because said election would be tainted by a president who had tried to influence the outcome by involving a foreign power in a plot to tip the election in his favor. Morris found that reasoning so compelling that he changed his mind. Franklin's argument won the day and the Convention quickly voted to include the impeachment and removal language in the Constitution."
