Om...television memory...Om...

When I was a little girl in the '80s, I watched a show about twins who had to do something with energy to make the world better. They had an old man as a mentor. One twin was a boy and one was a girl. I really liked this show. There was a tunnel into a cave and sticky jelly substances. I think at one point a man might have  unfortunately drowned in a lake but the twin children were okay. I will find out which show it was again someday. I might have found it on the internet many years ago. Well, at the end of the show the girl was making some kind of energy happen and so was the boy, but for some reason his energy was weak. It seems like one created blue energy and one created red energy and there were rocks or eggs involved and the energy had to connect? So since he was having trouble she had to try extra hard, and in the end she was able to make up for it and the task was accomplished. As a kid, I was miffed because I thought it was unfair that she had to do extra work. But, perhaps there is another way of interpreting that ending?
