I wish it didn't feel still feel this way...

There are some people ~ quite a few, really ~ who were neglected as children, had abusive male role models, saw people deferring to those types of men, and never healed from the trauma. One way you know that they never healed is that they will inevitably ~ perhaps even without planning on it ~ treat women and children worse than they treat men. Even though in their heads they believe they love women and children, their outward actions and behavior patterns often say otherwise.
