How to escape unexpectedly

It is easy.

Look up mother's old friend and see for the first time, her age (she never shared it). She is 100.

Remember the beautiful house and the care she took with it and the garden. It says it is only a one-bedroom, but there were 3 levels, and the attic sometimes served as your room. Remember staying there during some of the business trips and reading library books.

Remember her breakfasts which seemed difficult to eat early in the morning before school, but she insisted...homemade apple sauce, toast, poached egg.

Remember the music she would play - perhaps a bit too old for you, but you understood it would supposed to be good for everyone - Pachebel's Canon in D, a New Age album called The Fairy Ring.

Her great love of dogs and also cats.
Making candles.

The books you read there, such as The Tao of Pooh (kinda boring), The Road Less Traveled (kinda interesting) Moon Signs (it nearly became yours!) and one about Tea at the Ritz.

Some darker things about when you were a very young teenager and they did not like your reckless first boyfriend...

Remember the medicine wheel garden.
Remember the estuary.
