At certain times and in particular situations, I feel a peculiar recalcitrance come over me which in part I blame on the deceased humanitarian, Mr. Amory, possibly due to this quote:

I also seem to recall that he tried to hold hands with a type of woman he called a "California girl" and she made a fist and he concluded that "California girls" are "very strange."
