Once upon a single time...

Last night: insomnia. Started remembering things...how, at 19 or 20, I worked in a cafeteria and somehow wound up at a party with coworkers (one who didn't care for me as much asked the others "how did she get here?" But the others were cool.) I was enjoying a conversation with an artistic girl and then another girl came over and scrutinized us and rather assertively let it be known that I was talking to her girlfriend...a co-worker played the special single he got from the record shop. We thought it was so rare and edgy and cool. This was before YouTube.
