One thing I discovered in college was that

1) I was capable of writing a paper on a something that had completely traumatized me to the point where I hated writing about it  and I was convinced I was turning in a terrible paper

and

2) the professor who received the paper was still happy to give me a good grade and ask if he could read it aloud as a good example to the class.

Weird, huh? That's what I said to myself.
