This is familar

"Jonathan Matias, 26, the technical director for Univision 65 in Philadelphia, is a group member who used to pick cherry tomatoes when he was 14. He said he sees himself in the farmworkers and hopes the children being raised by those who harvest the crops see themselves reflected in the advocacy group.

“This is embedded in our roots, because for some, like our parents, this is the American dream. But, for others, like us, this is a way to show our respect and to show them that the field is a place where you sacrifice and persevere,' Matias said."

I wonder how to get a t-shirt?

"The migrant worker, who used his nickname to protect his identity, said he appreciates the efforts from the young adults who have organized to help the farm laborers, most with Mexican, Salvadoran, Haitian, and Puerto Rican backgrounds. He said he has not seen this type of engagement in his 16 years working the South Jersey fields."

"On Memorial Day, the group delivered cash stimulus and pamphlets in Spanish and English, with details on where to get tested anonymously and how to receive a package of food or have it delivered.

Now, wearing T-shirts that read “You too are essential,” the group has connected with other local organizations doing advocacy for farmworkers. They look forward to producing T-shirts to help the relief fund, to engage the public with the farmworkers’ plight, and continue to inform and feed the laborers."

Shelter for humans is a good idea

"Julián Castro on Twitter: 'We finalized the Equal Access Rule to ensure homeless trans Americans could shelter where they felt comfortable. This bigoted action by @SecretaryCarson will be reversed once Trump is out of office."

https://twitter.com/JulianCastro/status/1271618995616190464

That was a radical notion of 2020

"I wish the American public could appreciate that the agricultural community, that workforce, is continuing to work, putting themselves out in an environment by just being out of the home where they have a higher likelihood of having an exposure," Kohl says.

Because of that likelihood, hundreds of farmworkers went on strike for weeks this spring at seven of Yakima's fruit packing facilities, demanding protective supplies like masks, gloves, disinfectant and plastic dividers between workers. They also demanded a $2 per hour increase in to their $13.50 an hour pay, to make up for lost income and rising expenses."

"Neither the president nor his ministers said a word about the women and the children murdered; there were no condolences to their broken families; no promises to prevent further femicides and infanticides. Meanwhile, powerful men including professors, a former judge, businessmen and some politicians were implicated in a scandal about a sexual exploitation ring targeting teenage girls that led to the death of a 17-year old in March. The male speaker of the lower house of parliament also repeatedly interrupted and attempted to silence a female legislator last week, while she was denouncing gender violence."

America's food harvesters need better living conditions

"Latino and Haitian migrant workers board early-morning school buses or hop into the roll-up backs of U-Haul trailers to reach the fields. They work side by side hand-harvesting mostly round green tomatoes that are later gassed with ethylene to ripen them. At the end of the day, workers hop back in those buses and trucks and head home to retrofitted trailer parks often owned by the growers, with between 6 and 16 workers bedding down in bunk beds and mattresses on the floor in single-wide trailers meant to be one-bedroom homes."

"Raw Agave Versus Light Blue Agave? | Inulin in Raw Agave is Healthy | Living Healthy Mom"

http://www.livinghealthymom.com/raw-agave-versus-light-blue-agave/

Tiny humans with health issues

How do they grow up to become the banished humans hidden away in the hamlets the "normal ones" don't want talk about.

Are there at least nicer hamlets where they can go and be invisible to the rest of society?

Why so slow to change?

"Not only have doctors, scientists and researchers mostly been men, but most of the cells, animals and humans studied in medical science have also been male: most of the advances we have seen in medicine have come from the study of male biology. Dr Janine Austin Clayton, an associate director for women’s health research at the United States National Institutes of Health (NIH), told the New York Times that the result is: 'We literally know less about every aspect of female biology compared to male biology.'”

" Medicine has always seen women first and foremost as reproductive bodies. Our reproductive organs were the greatest source of difference to men – and because they were different, they were mysterious and suspicious. But the fallout of this difference is that for a long time medicine assumed it was the only difference. Because women had reproductive organs, they should reproduce, and all else about them was deemed uninteresting."

A good thing happening

Cat is eating!
Sprinkled probiotic in food.
Must make it taste better!!!!

Sometimes life is like a weird memory.

From childhood.

Like the one where some dudes in a car were pointing weapons at us.

The adult driving the car didn't see it.

I said "Look at what they are doing." And described it.

"No they're not," she said.

I watched one hang out the window and point a weapon at us again.

"Probably just bee-bee guns," said to self.

Eventually they got bored and turned down another road.

Sea grasses

Also draining

The women who told me to have kids and when I mentioned that some women have health issues that make it hard they said "We don't talk about that. We send them away to live somewhere else." Like now. Not 20 or 50 years ago. Now. They learned that behavior.

So tiresome

The girls who are like "You dumb bitch!" about the girls who got drugs in their drink, blaming them for dressing a certain way. Ugh. They learned that behavior. They learned it from older people.
