People still need water

"The daughter who used to haul water for them and make sure that they would have nutritious food ... died of coronavirus last week. And while mourning her daughter's loss, this older woman is having to face the fact that she may never be able to return to her home again..."

Something after supper

It's a song that's been around.

Galt MacDermot – Where Do I Go? Lyrics | Genius Lyrics
https://genius.com/Galt-macdermot-where-do-i-go-lyrics

Sad supper

After depression nap, eating a TV dinner of butter chicken and rice in the back yard as the sun goes down and the chest hurts and mentally saying so this is happening on Earth now for some reason.

A town called Thoreau

"Thoreau (United States) (AFP) - Amanda Larson pulls up at a water station a few miles from her home in the Navajo Nation and her three children get to work filling up large bottles lying on the bed of her pickup truck.

The 66 gallons will be used by her family for drinking, washing clothes and bathing -- before the next trip out in two or three days to repeat the back-breaking task.

"It's embarrassing, it's degrading, it's heartbreaking for my kids because they can't jump into a shower like everybody else and just wash," the 35-year-old preschool teacher tells AFP after returning to her prefabricated home in Thoreau, which lies in the southeast corner of this sovereign territory, the United States' largest Native American reservation."

Well, God

It's a thing to wonder about.

At 4 or 5 a.m.

Some people.

And their behavior patterns.

How come these famous leaders

(Trump, Bolsonaro, Duterte)

are so emotionally erratic.

Really.

And now I am starting to understand

How my friend could pretend the sound of a freeway is the sound of a river.

Some things are closer now

Look at this one:

That's good to read in an often windy backyard high on a hill.

it was a fine evening outside

Sunset, moon, mountains, walk around the neighborhood...

Mornings

How to make them better?

They have been the most difficult part of the day.

Even now, I feel some relief because it's getting later already.

Yesterday I got roped into watching

The 1st episode of...Loop something.

https://variety.com/2020/film/spotlight/tales-from-the-loop-mark-romanek-1234613302/

What a show to watch in a strange house late at night during a pandemic.

Sunday going through things to make tomorrow better Sunday

Songs out and about and on the brain can include...

Tori Amos – Mary Lyrics | Genius Lyrics

Tori Amos - Dolphin Song
http://www.yessaid.com/lyrics/2006apiano/dolphinsong.html

Stop and feed the cat.

Maybe even more discarding and shredding will happen in a second round.

The train is passing again!!!!

Love is our medicine

I love healing and we can continue to heal and get better at all levels. Yes! Love can be present in many different ways.

Love as quiet.
Love as boisterousness.
Love as food.
Love as water.
Love as words.
Love as music.
We can create healing in our loves.

Now being introduced to a cover (I REALLY LIKE!)

Kitty Daisy & Lewis: "Going Up The Country"

Just because an old scrap of paper said: Kitty Daisy & Lewis "Mohair Sam"

Someday...

"La Grande Bellezza ~ La Festa" from The Great Beauty

(That's a lot of stuff that's not happening these days...)

Someone said...

"I have got really weird taste in women."

I picked that up!

Telepathically.

Let's do this

Drag out the laptop and watch some scenes as we shred things!!!!

Burning sage and shredding old documents

One time I was lying in bed and I seemed to image myself swollen in the abdomen and a group of beings was praying for something I was part of...

I shred old documents but keep some a friend made notes on.

She was in a dream not long ago. Hugged her then chastised myself (not socially distancing!) She told me it was okay.

"I know you died. I know you don't look like this anymore."

Gee, wouldn't it have been fun to have a reunion and watch the kind of Italian film that came in the mail and helped me cry after I found out.

I need to find it again.

But first. The shredder.

From earlier

One time I was lying here
People praying

Help me universe

My body has been not so happy today.
There were stressful dreams.
Anxiety about certain things.
Help me heal. Help me be open.
Healing energies are around.
Let me know more about them.
I can make better eating choices.
Love and gratitude are good.

Hope we're inna better place soon

Sigh.

I spent many many hours in such jobs.  I feel good when I try to be nice or say something and the employee seems to like it. I remember it was good to have a customer treat you nicely, like a fellow human being.

Today someone in a big chain store was good to us and I appreciated it.

I said "This is probably more than you usually ring up here, huh?"

"Ten items or less."

Then:

"Only two items over the limit!"

I felt smiles beneath masks.

It was fun going through old magazines in the presence of tree friends

"When Fennel Mauldin purchased his great-grandmother's old home in the late 1970s..."

~ J. Burden "The Constant Gardeners"
Southern Living Oct '19 page 20

I'd like to thank myself too

I can let stuff go.
Wow.
Earth is such a good helper...
And isn't fun to hear the wind better.
Thanks to tree branches.

I'd love to thank the Earth

She can recycle
the garbage
She's a miracle worker
It takes time
And it really works

Felt...them....

Can believe waves of pain can pass through and go down into Earth and grass blades or up in to the sunlight....Can we love soil, too...it's growing things...

I need the sun now

Give me your wonderful stuff. So I can make it through this oh this moment in time...

The gardener has come by

And there are freedoms I want back...

We can think kindly of one another more often

And if it seems hard, all the more reason to do so.

Universe, deliverer of health and love and abundance

Why have I let the off-balance things in life affect me so? Can I be more balanced from now on. Couldn't balance help us more?

Ah...balance

We need it!!!!

I will learn.

Even if I forget again.

Forgetting is...really....prevalent.

But perhaps learning could be really prevalent too!

That is some good word-arranging

There

Sight/Site

"It is a surreal site to see hundreds, if not thousands, of young women—in many cases, girls—arriving at the field’s edge, covered head to toe, wearing their own bandanas and scarves—and walking from buses into the glare of the sun to pick crops. Sometimes 50 of these Indigenous and Latinx farmworkers step out of a single bus, then huddle to receive instructions from the bilingual crew boss hired by a labor broker."

Income inequality is really really gross

A person with a full-time job and a person with a part-time job living together should be able to afford a one-bedroom apartment. Hell, why not a condo or a small home? That's how it was for our parents.

Does the older generation want to kill us?
What is so hard to understand?

Thursday, May 21, 2020

Hopefully a lot will feel better soon.

Oh tired body.
I hope you will feel better very soon.

Wow, was he meant to be there

What quote to pick?

https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/one-euro-house-italy-coronavirus/index.html

"Solorzano was due to follow them a couple of weeks later, but then his flight was canceled."

~ S. Marchetti

"The first two nights were terrible," he says. "It was cold, I slept with my jacket on top of my pajamas but then the neighbors were great. I can't complain. They gave me heaters and even offered blankets, which I had, but I could use their internet."

"They kept checking in on me, brought me tons of food for Easter which took me three days to eat. I don't know what I would have done without them."

Grapes on the ground

Grapes of wrath, of backyard, of previous occupant. On Monday they were watered by rain.

Just in time

Saw 5 minutes or less of a documentary. A man in Italy was dying. But started getting better. His mother was on the phone talking to him about kissing girls. Why on earth. Then, oh she wants him to look forward to life. I see how weary the nurses are, how glad they are that he's improving. It's a lot to process. I will return to looking at the back yard and have that feeling of almost wanting to cry but wanting a different experience afterall.

Got revitalized

Thank you, loved one who brought me a salad.

wonder why so tired is

no visiting parks today so some other time may be much better
hopefully so

Another one was

In a dream neighborhood, an adopted child (the kid and his parents repeatedly stress that he is adopted, for some reason) really wanted to work on creative projects with other people. Drawing pictures seemed to be involved.

Tuesday, May 19, 2020

Goodbye, very weird dream.

I had one where I was in Italy, sitting alone in an elegant cathedral, holding up pieces of some kind of cake or dessert, and taking pictures of it at different angles against the architectural backdrop of the ceiling. Four different colors were in the dessert. Pink, green...maybe it was a baked version of spumoni. I did not like this dream. I felt not great. I may have been viewing things through the eyes of a man. I woke up disturbed because of the pandemic and had pain in my chest. Feel much better now. I do not have the costochondritis or whatever it was. My goodness. Health is such a blessing. I am grounded. I am in a boring suburb. It's great. Plain and boring and yes. I appreciate that good, grounded feeling more than anything right now.

Different types of pandemic maps!

Dare I say...fun ones...

"Nature walks, fantasy landscapes, domestic rearrangements, and redefined boundaries appear in your homemade maps of life during the coronavirus pandemic."

https://www.citylab.com/life/2020/04/neighborhood-maps-coronavirus-lockdown-stay-at-home-art/610018/

May 2020 was...

In exchange for waking up with that dreadful feeling that the pandemic was still going on, I got to shred 20-year-old documents I no longer needed.

Sunday, May 17, 2020

Hooray...and now, it is popcorn-less!!!

Living through this period of time has made me appreciate the ceiling over my head a lot more, at all times of day or night, in all manner of lighting (or shadow)...

There is a special place...

Where you can drive out into the semi-middle of nowhere to look up at the stars and then watch lights in the distance creep towards you and as they advance you realize with a kind of fascinated horror that they seem to be making a beeline in your direction and then, as they come closer and closer, whoosh! Off to the side they go...what was that? That was the train...

Not too far...

Man....that was a hard one...

Tune out...the...oh the train's going by!!!

I went there too

Ha.

"I went to a private boarding school. The planetarium is now gone, but I *think* there is still an observatory there, as well as the on-site accredited paleontological museum, and, of course, the bronze foundry. You know, like all the schools have."

I remember now. On a field trip with a group of young people for a class...they were reading Richard Dawkins...

"That I got the abandoned planetarium at my school up and running again and then would go in it with a boom box and a cassette of Vangelis music and space out for hours at a time."

Well, old train, it's finally happening!

Cue Vangelis ~ Chariots of Fire ðŸŽµ

Oh, and maybe this show is pretty funny...

2003 was too much fun

I hear the train...

But it's not carrying hobos looking for work in the Great Depression...

Gosh, that was a chunk of time after the 1918 pandemic...

Butter! I am grateful for butter!

"When the Germans complained to Dame Sibyl that they couldn't make butter with the milk, she showed up to their headquarters dressed in traditional butter-churning overalls and proceeded to give such a confusing and patronizing lecture on the art of butter-making that they were too embarrassed to ever complain again."

With numbers

This is a harsh read.

"A UC San Francisco study of thousands of residents and workers in the city’s Mission District found that 57% of those tested must leave their homes for work, and those who had to leave home to work accounted for 90% of the positive cases. Nearly 89% of those who tested positive earn less than $50,000 a year, and most live in households with three or more people.

While Latinos made up 44% of those tested, they accounted for more than 99% of the positive COVID-19 cases.

Many residents and workers in the Mission District are employed in essential services such as agriculture, construction, manufacturing, restaurants, grocery stores and janitorial and domestic services, the university said."

Now the scent on the wind has changed

Spices...like someone is cooking Indian food.

I am making 2 types of tea. One is technically a tealess almond and fruit blend, and the other is a soursop black tea.

But someone else out there is definitely making something like a curry.

Prayer

Look at what you can do now

When you have a bit of downtime on your shift you can lay down on the bed. Aren't you ducking fategrul...

Wonder where to go next

Maybe where it's not easy to hear the freeway all the time.

But actually...

Sometimes it's almost unnoticeable.

Mother universe can help

She can help with the health issues, dreams of a girl I used to know driving me around, talking to me about them.

Yeah I read that

After seeing a toile mask on Etsy.

"Curiously enough, it was Ben Franklin's gift to his wife that would bring about the end of Oberkampf's textile mill in Jouy-en-Josas. The Franklins popularized it in the colonies, and American imitations of French toile eventually put Oberkampf out of business in 1840."

It might be the answer!
I felt a great, positive shift.
And I needed that.

Friday, May 08, 2020

Geez, it's a lot of work

My body is very sad.
I will need to tend to her.
She has ailments and I am her mom.
I am sure I haven't had quite this situation in other lifetimes.
Maybe humans can congratulate each other more for being alive right now.

Earth breezes

Have helped many a weary soul.

I bet that would be smart

Being really grateful and happy for lots of little things right now.

Gratitude Cattitude

Cat seems better for now.
That's a great thing here.
Miaow.

Birds chirp.

Reading point 8 and listening to a train

"8) Widespread indifference and selfishness worsen environmental problems.

Pope Francis reserves his strongest criticism for the wealthy who ignore the problem of climate change, and especially its effect on the poor. 'Many of those who possess more resources seem mostly to be concerned with masking the problems or concealing their symptoms…' (No. 26). Why, he asks, are so many of the wealthy turning away from the poor? Not only because 'some view themselves as more worthy than others,' but because frequently decisions makers are 'far removed from the poor,' physically, with no real contact to their brothers and sisters (No. 90, 49)."

"California growers aren't thrilled: They say it won't help them much in a financial crisis."

"Anne Lopez, director of the Center for Farmworker Families, called it 'un-American' to consider cutting wages during a health and economic crisis. 'They’re already impoverished,' said Lopez. 'They live on the edge of survival, they have no guarantees. Right now they’re going through one of the worst periods I’ve ever seen…and to make things worse for them by cutting their pay? I was thinking about things getting better

I really feel it would help a lot if some more people would just admit that not only the obvious extreme examples but they too have helped to feed into a greedy monstrous system for short term comforts...like, do it for yourself. What if you save yourself from 10 lifetimes of having to come back as the kind of exploited factory worker you have worked so hard all your life to not think about.

That'd be so weird

If the people who (it's probably good I can't find the posting that said this) specifically requested that the neighborhood they move in to in Southern CA have VERY GOOD schools (they were Very Loving Parents afterall) and not be too "Hispanic" (but "white" and "Asian" people they were okay with) found out that their kids just managed to join some white or Asian gangs anyways.

Your chauvinist treatment of others is sickening

One day you should ask yourself who made you be like that.

Sometimes your behavior says

You don't know how to care about people who are too different from you.

She is not rich.
She is not white.
She is not a man.
She is not genetically whatever.

You do not get a pass for treating others like trash.

OH

"In order to hide the fact that they’re holding their boss hostage, the women have to run the business as best they can, which, it turns out, is much better than Mr. Hart. They implement flexible schedules and a job-sharing program, set up a daycare center and ensure equal pay.

These themes were all very timely in 1980, the same year the EEOC issued guidelines clarifying that sexual harassment is unlawful under Title VII (though it didn’t become a nationally discussed issue until the Anita Hill hearings a decade later). But the thing about watching 9 to 5 today is that you realize the American workplace of 2015 is nowhere near as progressive as Miss Doralee Rhodes and company were way back in 1980. "

Starting to feel like there's potential for a sequel with a female "Mr. Hart"

"The plot of 9 to 5 feels nothing short of radical, even (and perhaps especially) today. Mr. Hart spends his days harassing Doralee by telling her she’s much more to him than 'just a dumb secretary.' He lies about sleeping with her, and purposefully knocks pencils on the floor so she’ll lean over and pick them up. He insults Judy, and bullies Violet by demanding she fix his coffee. After learning she lost out on a promotion to a man she trained, Violet confronts Mr. Hart. 'Spare me the women’s lib crap,' he replies."

After experiencing privileged have created unnecessary tension, my body would rest and bathe and drink water and have a better life and feel at peace.

That's going to have to change...

I want to take a shower and I am not taking one because water running through pipes bothers a person and now I am not comfortable and not sleeping.

Moving again is another consideration.

This is not a fun reason to be awake.

A bit of reading this hour

"As girls, Nadia Williams and her sister spent countless hours imagining their weddings. Now 30, Williams helped her younger sibling plan her big day, but when it came on Friday, she couldn't be at her side as maid of honor. Instead, she put on a sequined dress, pulled her hair back, held a bouquet, and watched the ceremony alone, via Zoom, from a community for older adults."

RIP and relax

I can go through old magazines I was going to donate to school projects, RIP out one or two pages, and toss the rest. That is productive!

Yeah, yeah, RIP.

Dinner existe

Added garlic and ginger and Meyer lemon but it is still the canned soup of sadness.

1/2 can. Who needs a whole can right now? Not this one.

I have a skirt I wear all the time that keeps getting big on me.

Maybe this would be the sort of time to do a juice fast or something.

It's the wallowing phase.

May the novelty is wearing off 4th

2020 is happening.
Sleep can repair in a time of sickness.
Noticing how the birds seem good today.

Sneezed and got dizzy

Time to peacefully sort things and rest and drink tea and check on the cat.

X: I think we should call the vet again
Y: Maybe

Sigh....

Pets & people deserve love and healthy lives

Help us know what to do for ourselves and an ailing animal companion...

People deserve to feel well

Let this knowledge spread into every corner of the world. Health on all levels. Security. Safety. Well-being. Peace.

And geez, some seemed to have the perfect set up to go through all this but maybe this is a great time for all the hidden things to get addressed...maybe things will get better and more refined. Maybe it will be a great opportunity and gratitude and healing will be the result.

People need different things sometimes.

I promise to make better choices.

I respect my body and this journey.
I acknowledge I must do better.
I have been experiencing the effects of poor eating habits, grief, anxiety...
I know I can change and get better.
Is new bedding at all to blame?
I will make better eating habits happen.

it is a rough time

I feel it today. Again.
Just acknowledging it.
My body's messages.
My grief for my cat's health issues.
Love l need to feel it what we can do better.
My wish for better everything.

These are the days of decisons

Hoping we can do the best for the kitty cat companion. Before we moved to a new place, the vet found lesions on her lungs. That's not good. We paid for many tests and it's not a fungal thing.
Sigh.

Utilitarian spicy sushi

It can vastly improve a mediocre white wine.

Oh ghost

I had sushi last night and fried chicken wings this evening and now I have to clean up after my cat....

Ah, I read the fried chicken article and my lemon pepper dinner came from the last place on their list
(different location)

From cold to warm

Just made me feel how being warm can be the best feeling ever.

COZY

What a LIFE

"Martha Gellhorn's Career as a War Correspondent and Marriage to Ernest Hemingway"

https://www.townandcountrymag.com/society/tradition/a22109842/martha-gellhorn-career-ernest-hemingway/

It is very interesting to read about. I could not live it.

She should be a character in a movie.

we can get more in touch with nature now

even from a front yard I didn't use to have access to

and I will finish reading it soon

I don't know why a part of me is deeply mad at myself for not working harder at unpacking and organizing. I will do it later! I need a break.

No one us yelling at me about it except myself.

We are strange.

Lady Lutiant

Let us learn from your letter and your experience...

"1918 flu pandemic: a letter from a relatable past"

Expand choices!!!

Using those words.

"Alas, we do not have a system or culture in the United States that would permit a running mate to say, 'I am deeply troubled by the allegations persuasively leveled against my running mate, Joe Biden, and wish we didn’t live in a world in which we had to choose between an accused rapist and self-confessed pussy grabber versus an accused harasser who’s now been credibly accused of assault, but this is what white capitalist patriarchy does and I’m actually here to try to change that!'”

I look forward to the sound of the train

Because it's going places.
I just love the sound for some reason.
Who knew that would become my new favorite thing???

I needed puzzles and TV shows badly at first

But why does that seem in the past now. Like sleep is everything now.

When to bathe

Showering late is too loud for some people,  apparently. No singing, etc. Just water running through pipes or whatever is noisy. So now we have to figure something out. I guess I had a luxury I never knew.
