'PEOPLE ARE GOING TO DIE': TRUMP ADMIN ENDS PROTECTIONS FOR VERY SICK MIGRANTS

By Nicole Goodkind

Should be a word for that

A word for the feeling of still believe that people can return in another form but society is not ready to talk about it so gonna be quiet in the meantime and just wait and see how things go.

What...is your purpose

Been up really late (someone tell my body it's not the middle of the day already) and had to harangue a beloved just a bit about the gender dynamics of his late night entertainment..just had to..it's life in a human body on planet Earth! LIFE IS SHORT.

And then dipped into a T. talk and now I gotta go to bed.

"13:00
Now, it's easier said than done, because I'm saying it now, but I'm telling you it's not easy in male culture for guys to challenge each other, which is one of the reasons why part of the paradigm shift that has to happen is not just understanding these issues as men's issues, but they're also leadership issues for men. Because ultimately, the responsibility for taking a stand on these issues should not fall on the shoulders of little boys or teenage boys in high school or college men. It should be on adult men with power. Adult men with power are the ones we need to be holding accountable for being leaders on these issues, because when somebody speaks up in a peer culture and challenges and interrupts, he or she is being a leader, really. But on a big scale, we need more adult men with power to start prioritizing these issues, and we haven't seen that yet, have we?

13:49
Now, I was at a dinner a number of years ago, and I work extensively with the US military, all the services. And I was at this dinner and this woman said to me -- I think she thought she was a little clever -- she said, "So how long have you been doing sensitivity training with the Marines?"

14:06
And I said, 'With all due respect, I don't do sensitivity training with the Marines. I run a leadership program in the Marine Corps.'"

Wouldn't that be weird?

What if you were not a guy and had a dream that you met someone and you were all full of feminine youth and optimism and you told that someone all of the fine qualities you saw in him and in his soul, such as a capacity for compassion...a whole list of things. And then the man was somehow given this list. And he handed it back to you. For some reason he did not check "compassion" on his list. He did however check "marriage." As if to say, Well I am not interested in compassion. I am interested in marriage. Weird. What was that about? Dream ended before there was any chance of incorporating 15th century shenanigans...marriage minus compassion what is wrong with you???

This is a silly old song.

It was on the radio and made me wish an old friend was there (because she loved to make fun of it.)

"Maggie..."

https://genius.com/Rod-stewart-maggie-may-lyrics

I had an idle thought that someone with her sense of humor would be nice to have around if I ever needed to visit a hospital...in fact, when I was younger and bleeding profusely (almost needing a blood tranfusion, sick and anemic for weeks afterwards) she did come to the hospital with me.

So glad I wasn't alone then.

Over the weekend I learned that some attentive people have come up with names for some things.

PMDD

PME

The gift of the internet is it will eventually deliver something helpful to you.

Knowledge is everything.

Maybe I can care for myself and make some changes that help me be a happier and healthier person.

Maybe for some of us, the depression, physical pain, PMDD. etc. would get better if society made significant changes and started respecting diverse experiences of many different people.

Wouldn't it have been nice to have learned about a lot of these things decades ago?

Just imagine what people could know more about in ten, twenty, fifty, one hundred years...

What else is there to learn about?

FASCINATING dairy details

HUH!

"A1 casein is present in the milk from Holstein cows, which are the predominant dairy herds in USA, Canada, Australia, and the UK. A different type of casein – called A2 casein – does not form casomorphin BCM7, and does not cause inflammation. The milks of Jersey cows, goats and sheep, are predominantly A2, and are fine for most people. Cheeses like Ricotta are ok, because they are mostly whey protein. Butter is Ok because it is mostly fat.

I switch many (not all) of my PCOS patients to Jersey, goat or sheep dairy, and they do very well. The first thing to improve is their acne, usually within a few weeks.

Other PCOS symptoms also improve off A1 dairy, but they take a little longer, usually 3-4 months. In fact, any good treatment for PCOS takes 3-4 months because that is how long it takes for a follicle to develop all the way to ovulation. It’s a 100 day journey to ovulation, and the journey cannot start until inflammation ends." ~ Dr. L. Briden

I think I love this genius.

After years of navigating her recurring physical and emotional symptoms, Coffey said she learned to prioritize self-care and developed a greater sense of compassion for herself and her pain. How compromising.

Q:  Did you enjoy researching histamine-causing foods?

A: No. I am exhausted and want to cry. Cherries are okay on this website! Cherries are not okay on that website!

Q: Would it be better to just lean towards anti-flammatory and antihistamine foods, rather than eliminate all foods with histamines?

A: Yeah, probably. I am going to get the ginger tea and warm up the rice pack in the microwave.

Olive grove anedcote

There were fires everywhere in the mountains and an olive grove was spared. Even though it was spared, it was unhappy in the aftermath. Smoke got into the trees, into the underground river. They were unhealthy for a while but they recovered. They are better now. That's what I want to happen with other tragedies, too.

A Forest, MS story

"An undocumented Guatemalan woman, Maura, didn’t go to work—and didn’t get arrested—because her 16-year-old son was sick with a stomachache. She stayed to care for him and later took him to the hospital, where the doctors told her they had to remove his appendix. Right around then, she remembered, her little brother called and told her he had been picked up by ICE. Her son spent the next two days in the hospital recovering from his appendectomy, which, she explained apologetically, was why she had waited until Sunday to try to locate and help her brother, whom she has not heard from since that Wednesday.

Maura hesitated even to contemplate the alternate reality where she went to work on Aug. 7. 'If they’d detained me that day, I don’t know what would have happened with my son, dying at home, him not knowing about me, me not knowing about him.'"

"...the day she was born, she was told she's **** because she's a woman  and then she gets pregnant in a new home where seven other people are telling her everyday they're poor, you know, you will lose everything that you have in life if you produce a girl, how do you think can you change that mindset? By showing some streetplay? Or, you know, writing a poem? Or inventing a television spot? No! It doesn't work. Now the ultimate solution is of course that people start respecting girls more than boys"

Too many dizzy spells today.

Honey

This is a good one.

"The honey flow is NOT year round as many think – the honey ONLY flows IF there has been rain. One may see an abundance of flowers everywhere and think HONEY but without water there is none. RAIN = NECTAR = HONEY. It is that simple. No nectar NO HONEY."

Smelling biscuits baking

backisbettersoperhapsshouldbeswimmingbutI'mnot!

I'm baking biscuits with tapioca so they can hold the jams the nuns made.

Watched 13 seconds of this clip (On the Waterfront: "I Coulda Been A Contender") then checked to see if that background music is used in The Californians (kind of? around 3:25 in Stuart has Cancer?) and then commenced watching the first clip...good grief. It's about WEIGHT???? WTF.

I'd see "On the Waterfront" maybe?

She says all she needs is therapy

If I were a nun...

it would be Grand Silence in 2 hours.

What's blooming and comestible

Didn't really care for the taste of nettles & rose in an infusion, but the plants liked it.

Rose could go very well with raspberry leaf and red clover...hint of mint too?

Oooo that phone

0830: internet makes you want to cry / scream / throw up - don't look at it
0845: that is such an interesting angle
0900: learning about the lives of nuns is looking better n' better ev'ry day

I was thinking about some people

Ah...the nuns...they do some things...the internal work. Living a certain type of life in a certain type of female body with lots of symptoms and hardly any steady path to follow from conventional medicine will drive you towards internal work. Do this or die. It feels like that sometimes.

There are people who have become masters at manifesting external stuff in this life. For some reason I sat next to one on a plane that was malfunctioning. It had to land and it did.  And there was still chaos with communication. The whole experience was far more scary for me than it was for him and there probably are reasons for that.

This life

Sometimes you have to say yes to healing your body and go in a different direction.

A wrinkle...but...

(Going for a walk down the road in spite of the fact that it is where the "man who is racist against Mexicans" lives and then returning to the hostess waving and saying "Glad you came back!")

THE WILDERNESS IS BIGGER

Nature note 8/8

A bunch of kids are running around a gazebo in a park and one kid is the boss trying to direct all of their activities...

Thank you

"Inequality, like many problems we face, is as vast as it is complex. But this article left me a little more hopeful:"

https://mobile.twitter.com/BarackObama/status/1153772529271615488

"Raj Chetty got his biggest break before his life began. His mother, Anbu, grew up in Tamil Nadu, a tropical state at the southern tip of the Indian subcontinent. Anbu showed the greatest academic potential of her five siblings, but her future was constrained by custom. Although Anbu’s father encouraged her scholarly inclinations, there were no colleges in the area, and sending his daughter away for an education would have been unseemly.

But as Anbu approached the end of high school, a minor miracle redirected her life. A local tycoon, himself the father of a bright daughter, decided to open a women’s college, housed in his elegant residence. Anbu was admitted to the inaugural class of 30 young women, learning English in the spacious courtyard under a thatched roof and traveling in the early mornings by bus to a nearby college to run chemistry experiments or dissect frogs’ hearts before the men arrived. Anbu excelled, and so began a rapid upward trajectory."

Have to pack! (with music)

The Dixie Cups - Iko Iko - 1965

Personally, I would like to ignore the weight loss ad (100% targeted at women) if it pops up again.

The Belle Stars ~ Iko Iko

Society spends entirely too much time telling women to lose weight and not enough time talking about awesome grandmothers.

Earth entertainment ideas

What if you had a lot of fans and descendants who were greatly impressed by your enthusiasm for hummingbirds, flowers, bees....all of that stuff. What if that will be more important in the future because....

HAVE U CONSIDERED THAT

Also don't think that you can just escape by dying. People come back.

So this is kinda exciting

Making a nettle & rose infusion
before a little road trip.
