Something fun and steamrollerish

They are redoing the street and it's actually kinda exciting.

Let's see why they're racing vehicles up the street!

What are they doing now?

Rumble rumble.

Genuis

"The overwhelming majority of laureates are men, she noted; and when women are honored, interviewers ask questions about their clothes, their families, their domestic habits, while the male honorees are asked about hobbies and research. Thus, male laureates are presented as serious scientists with innate brilliance, female laureates as anomalies who succeeded through hard work." ~ E. Atkin

"Meanwhile, men deemed “geniuses” by their peers are often excused for abusive behavior toward women."~ E. Atkin

Milena and Albert

"But nobody made it clearer than Albert Einstein himself that they collaborated on special relativity when he wrote to Mileva on 27 March 1901: 'How happy and proud I will be when the two of us together will have brought our work on relative motion to a victorious conclusion.'

Then Mileva’s destiny changed abruptly."
~ P. Gagnon

“Before our departure, we finished an important scientific work which will make my husband known around the world.”
~ Milena Einstein

Later:

"You made me laugh when you started threatening me with your recollections. Have you ever considered, even just for a second, that nobody would ever pay attention to your says if the man you talked about had not accomplished something important. When someone is completely insignificant, there is nothing else to say to this person but to remain modest and silent. This is what I advise you to do.” ~ Albert Einstein https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/guest-blog/the-forgotten-life-of-einsteins-first-wife/

Do you also remember when he then proceeded to have us lined up so he could get a closer look at his property? Oh I forgot to mention that guy will be in the running to become the next President of the United States."

What if you were chronically ill

And read so much about your conditions your headaches and you were dizzy.

Antidote: fiercely think this is also a societal illness, for in the realm of you have mother's day and father's day to be special, every day is false to women with chronic  female health problems, like sacrificing nature for money is wrong, like treating women only as good or worthy for being vessels to bear children is wrong, like treating women as trash for having certain health issues is just wrong.

Like denying that this is what has been done...

...is another aspect of environmental terrorism.

Hours ago and still thinking about it.

The phone woke me, like an alarm, with a song. It seemed to me that the singer was cheerfully singing about how it's time to be leaving.

I still don't know why the phone did this. Then again, I thought of...well, a person who has left this existence. (But maybe will come back...)
You song spirit.

Partially in daydreaming about other regions, I had been looking at these, which may be no longer "active."

(That does seem sad. I wonder if people will get "retro" about the picture and text juxtaposition in old blogs, as they did with music. They didn't buy tapes and albums for a time, but now they have returned to those...)

Tabs were open on the phone, so could the song have been attached somehow?

I don't know why it did that.

Certain experiences noted

...in pursuit of better health:

"My baby mattered, and I was so grateful to have him safe. But I mattered, too, and I should have been treated that way."

"I'm wearing the uniform of the team that has its pain taken seriously." https://www.ladyscience.com/blog/when-a-sweatshirt-is-armor-painseries-dunham

"In my particular experience, having cancer was easier than having a female pain condition."

One more...

What has been watched recently

This was a stress-y PTSD-laden Xmas special.

http://www.pbs.org/call-the-midwife/seasons/season-3/holiday-special-2013/

This is less so, but it's so far the only time I've ever seen the topic of 'mothers' homes' treated in any piece of on-screen (film, TV) media.

http://www.pbs.org/call-the-midwife/seasons/season-4/2014-holiday-special/

I still don't know any other women who watch this show...a guy was the one that recommended it to me...and another guy told me, "This show reminds me of 'House' but without the acerbic main character."

Maybe it's herbal tea time

The wish to be more healthy may be greater than any interesting thing I have ever wanted.

but but but

what

Monty Python - Camelot (It's Only A Model)

PJ Harvey - C'mon Billy

Alternate reality

Well, sometimes I think that I would have asked her if she could recommend something to me from what she wrote, and also something from what others wrote, and then maybe we would have gone on to talk of more things.

Who knows, we might have looked at something like this:

https://www.newyorker.com/culture/rabbit-holes/the-classics-scholar-redefining-what-twitter-can-do

Rabbit.

Holes.

Maybe I am not very mad about things now, but I am still a bit weird about them.

It is not now, but once I was in the store, low-key freaking out, mumbling to myself in the frozen foods section about people only undergoing transformations and still being able to come back and needing to say that it's possible, and a presence seemed to say "thank you"  but I for some reason felt not very gracious and came home in such a mood, less like "you're welcome" and more like "you are such a pain in the ass."

But that's not the way it is now.

And when it was the holidays, I walked home from the store holding a bottle of cocktail sauce and was so mad, just wanting to smash it everywhere, but no, that would be foolish, then you'd feel guilty and need to come back and pick up the shards, little kids live here.

Things are different now.

Atoms must have replaced themselves.

I might have...

listened to To Bring You My Love just as many times in this life if I were a guy, but I kind of doubt it!

"It has a guitar played with a pastry brush (!)"  ~  Lauren O'Neal

But then again, maybe.

Halfway through a novel

...with a very appealing cover and so far there's a missing girl (more than one, actually), SUNY references, and very little about birds. In school I learned people don't like it when you don't read their stories properly. But sometimes you skim and then reread...

Another way to put it is, this is the book I thought I would be reading: https://www.kirkusreviews.com/book-reviews/laura-harrington/a-catalog-of-birds/

This is more like what I am actually reading: https://militaryspousebookreview.com/2018/01/07/one-familys-war-laura-haringtons-a-catalog-of-birds/

Doesn't seem overly polite

Perhaps receptionist was simply following orders.

"I tried to talk to someone in Alden’s New York headquarters on Wednesday to ask about the apparently counterproductive strategy of endless cuts but was told no one was there to speak to the news media. When I asked to be connected to managing director Heath Freeman’s office, the receptionist hung up on me."

A black man and a white man told me they very much hope I will attend.

Maybe it's just something about Easter.

They have their fans...

Curious wording

I decided to look up an organization and found this...

Quite simply

I feel it's unfair
a person left.

Therefore,
must return...

Probably will...

Otherwise, what is the point of the whole thing, conversations in cars, and weird messages transmuted and hanging out and then not hanging out, seriously, what is that, the point of that.

THIS is like doing LAUNDRY.

I'm going to watch my new show.

Before: Carnivale.

Now: Call the Midwife.

ah, poetry, such stuff

This is...um...

What she found

Rachel Denhollander:

“In fact, experts have stated that both the amount of abuse, and the failure to report it, is likely worse than in the Roman Catholic Church.”

“The ultimate reality that I live with is that if my abuser had been Nathaniel Morales instead of Larry Nassar,” she told Christianity Today, “I would not only not have evangelical support, I would be actively vilified and lied about by every single evangelical leader out there.”

Not so olden days

Girdles and tinyness and tuberculosis

XX: Isn't it awful to think you could lose your job because it took you more than 60 seconds to go to the bathroom.

XY: I was about to say you could lose your job because of being pregnant.

And TB is still a leading cause of death.

Healing is needed

When you are in pain and so is your friend. Happy healing your sorrow day. Happy healing your pain today. Happy healing your body day.

Helper in sight

"I thought you would enjoy it." A kind man who is much better than most of the ones I have met.

Woe writing

Why are you a man who abuses his power and ruins things with your selfishness and untrustworthy behavior. Why do some women enable you and continue to devalue other women in the process. Who knows if you will ever stop lying to yourself.

How about I babble

I stay in and try to pay off debt but spend money on stupid things like a cheap but highly rated wine (yes! it tastes fine! it's from Portugal! I hope it doesn't have arsenic!)

I found old stories my friend made comments on. No grand insights.
However, she is a soul teacher and I hope she comes back.

I think she's a little bit like...or perhaps would kind of like...this.

Joni Mitchell ~ Big Yellow Taxi + Both Sides Now (BBC - 1969)

Less than five minutes in...

"No offense -- his words weren't that interesting." (04:22)

Goooood Looooord...

"Tana was the cool girl who could take it." (47:12)

It was an interesting evening

"I love your midwife." Nicole Byers, before telling jokes about having dead parents, to Kayden Kross, regarding her "ring of fire" childbirth story.

Hmmm. Who is Jacques Torres.

This was a nice treat

I went to a very interesting event last night where women read at a Masonic lodge during the full moon.

And then, to Dennys.

You and a roof over your head

When there's a man who seems to have no where else to go falling asleep in a Denny's and the server wakes him up and you remember the growing problem of homelessness because of the gaps between rents and incomes.

" Consider the pairs of thick gloves that George Abou-Daoud has stashed inside the nine restaurants he owns on the east side of Hollywood."

http://www.latimes.com/opinion/editorials/la-ed-homelessness-impact-on-others-20180301-htmlstory.html

"Nadia and her children are among the economically homeless — men, women and, often enough, families, who find themselves without a place to live because of some kind of setback or immediate crisis: a divorce, a short-term illness, a loss of a job, an eviction. In many cities across the nation, these are not necessarily problems that would plunge a person into homelessness. But here they can. Why? Because of the shockingly high cost of housing in Los Angeles."
